The Samsung Note20 Ultra is the top selling 5G phone for September but Huawei has larger share of the top 10

According to market analysis firm Counterpoint Research, Samsung has managed to take the crown for the most popular 5G phone in September 2020 with the Note20 Ultra. However, Huawei has a larger share of the top 10 with the P40 Pro and Nova 7 in a close second and third place respectively.

The rollout and promotion of 5G in China is directed by the Party, therefore far faster regardless of (lack of) economics. That and how state controlled media deified Huawei makes it very easy for Huawei to aggressively profit from the immature 5G tech. How 5G currently doesn't make economic sense is an open secret in the industry, but the industry needs to eat and it can't do so staying on LTE for long so that's why they've spun this 5G myth for the government to take advantage of for political reasons, which comes to my point that the ability of different governments to advance their respective agendas against societal resistance is extremely varied, with the China Communist Party on the high end. Adding to that their ability to manipulate the dominating discourse is also top notch, likely superior in a domestic environment to the American media machine.
