Highlighting the sheer scale of real-world detail found in Microsoft Flight Simulator, a Redditor recently flew over the iconic "Bliss" hill in Sonoma County, CA, immortalised in the Windows XP default wallpaper. While colours are faded this late in the year, the composition is a remarkable match for the original photo.

So I guess this eventually evolves into a VR version of Google Earth? Could be interesting, though many classified locations would no doubt be censored.

It's actually the reason we got a Rift. It's truly amazing. You can fly somewhere in Flight Simulator and actually walk around and sight see in Google Earth VR
