Opinion: Sony has made the right decision postponing the PS5 event

Sony has made the right decision by postponing the upcoming PS5 event that was originally scheduled for June 4, because "more important voices" do need to be heard at the moment. PlayStation 5 fans should support the company's move rather than complain about having to wait longer for the eagerly anticipated reveal event.

Then begone. I doubt this website would miss someone like you who'd rather cover their eyes to the obvious. You're apart of the problem. This is what a protest is. It's meant to get in your face, to bring more awareness to the issues. If you have a problem stay off line. This protest is everywhere offline and online. Get over yourself buddy. Well, truth isn't subjective. The world's gonna hate on the people that stand up for the minorities simply because society thinks that a quantity of people believing something makes them right. To turn away from wrong would be admitting to no wrong, which we cannot do in this time period. What's the point of attempting to put money above ethics? Are you as selfish as the companies that do this? Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you have the right to voice your opinion here, and if any of us have freedom of speech, then we're most certainly welcome to use a platform to express our support for the truth. If I didnt know better, I would've assumed that Sony was an US company. Watching them slowly turning into gold diggers has been a sad experience.

While I dont mind them for delaying more announcements, I still find it suspicious to say the least.

On the other hand, things have gotten out of hand with all the looting and damage to private property, so all in all, I feel the movement for George has lost control of a certain part of their people. Of course, not all of those people do care about George, but they are certainly harming the peaceful protests images.

While I fully agree that it is a good step to delay any presentations, especially since they are always very US-centric even for non-US companies, reading all of the corporatespeak on Twitter that says nothing concrete and smells of lawyers writing something with total non-committal in mind has not made all these companies look any better.

I understand that companies of this size can do nothing but steer their marketing efforts between the Scylla and Harybdis of public opinion and cannot take an actual stance, but I also do hope people treat companies for what they are - mechanisms for generating revenue for the shareholders, not your personal friends, even when they post a dramatic dark background tweet implying they are for everything good against everything bad.

With all due respect, this is an American issue. Don't globalise it, you'll only be met with resentment and anger.
I understand fully well that these corporations have a public image to maintain, but they're being threatened and shamed by supporters of these "protesters" into appeasing them. It's bloody blackmail, and bending over for it shows great weakness.
Personally, I don't want another Sony product in my life. Microsoft and all the others can also go on a bender, I don't want any of my money to go to their marketing/PR department, and I bet you the chiefs overseas in Japan feel the same way.
