Just 10-15%? More like 20-40% if you look at benchmarks. 20 series was already not much of an upgrade, but its Max-Q version is barely on par with 1080 laptop, often worse. I mean, it is hard to follow Pascal which was dare I say revolutionary for mobile gaming, but still.

And let's be honest, it's basically the old M moniker made "cooler" and to not make it look like these are cut down mobile versions, which is exactly what manufacturers are doing according to this article.

According to Notebookcheck data, the 2070 Max-Q and 2070 (laptop) differ by 25% (in favor of the 2070 laptop). Anywhere from 10-25% is a more accurate estimate imo

I would like NVIDIA to go to the old M model scheme. There should be just RTX 2080 and RTX 2080M, a desktop equivalent (similar frequency and core count) and a low power (albeit lower performing) mobile equivalent. Then it would be a lot easier for stores and product pages to copy and paste the whole GPU code/name.
