No HDMI or Thunderbolt yet again: Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 is being stingy on connectivity and now it's really starting to show

Be prepared to carry around a bunch of adapters if you plan on buying the latest Surface Laptop. The newest models haven't improved upon one of the weakest aspects of the Surface Laptop 2 series to make alternatives like the Dell XPS series, HP Spectre series, or Asus ZenBook series appear more versatile.

You are absurd. The usb c can double as hdmi port, and thunderbolt is really useless for this CPU class.

Didn't know HDMI can be done over USB Type C. A full-sized HDMI port would have been very helpful, along with one or two more USB Type-A ports.

Oh yay, another "external gpu 'enthusiast'" who thinks the only purpose for tb3 is egpus. It has uses for everything and anything that benefits from fast data transfer and high bandwidth.

The entire device is a poorly designed exercise in Conway's law with a limited hardware setup for a premium price. Not to mention  the proprietary connector nobody wants sucking up most of the possibilities. Even apple figured that out by this point. It's basically a MacBook at a near MBP price, with a bed on ryzen fanboys ability to herd sales.

This comment is spot on - Thunderbolt 3 is the epitome of versatility. With the entire market shifting to Thunderbolt 3, this was a bad move by Microsoft. This could have been an amazing laptop.
