Title: India is building a national IMEI database to combat phone theft
Post by: Redaktion on June 22, 2019, 20:44:02
The Indian Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MEIT) is reportedly setting up a Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR). It is to be composed of the IMEIs of all mobile devices in the country. This initiative has been planned in order to help prevent the theft of these items in the country.

As usual, under the guise of a plausible goal (supposedly searching for stolen smartphones), the totalitarian power of India (who else doubts this?) creates obvious preconditions for strengthening the digital concentration camp.

Try to find a smartphone through the police in India this way. Who wants to argue with me that this will work?
