Sound familiar, anyone? Just over a month ago Dell reported that addressing the removal of S3 sleep was next on its agenda for the XPS 15 9570. Disappointingly, but perhaps unsurprisingly, the company has seemingly u-turned on this promise.

And they pledged that the new XPS 15 7590 won't suffer from the issue. Should I believe them?
This issue, the VRM-induced throttling, as well as thermal throttling caused by poor chassis/heatsink design, is why I tell all my friends to stay away from XPS systems. It is mind boggling that a big MNC such as Dell will consistently put out such shitty products as its flagship consumer line
I think you are running some program to cause this. Mine does not have this issue. I heard Google services can cause this.
I have to admit that I am sad about buying the XPS to replace my aging HP probook. So many things were working much better on that old computer. No sleep issues, no overheating, issues with external drive connected with hdmi port, no proper wake on usb. My last dell...
