Nintendo has two new Switch gaming consoles in the works for launch this year. According to the Wall Street Journal, one will be a cheaper entry-level model and the other targeted at more serious gamers.

The Switch Mini makes sense as it would replace the 3DS market. However, as much as I want a Switch Pro, I don't think it might be a good idea to release it just yet, only 2 years into the cycle of the Switch. This could potentially hurt the sales this year as people might not want to buy Switch if a better version is on its way. If it's more expensive and clearly targets the avid gamers, then maybe it can work. I guess it all depends on Nintendo's marketing, which they've gotten a lot better at since the Switch era.
