Title: VLC 4.0 now supports uninterrupible music playback and Apple AirPlay, but drops support for multiple older platforms
Post by: Redaktion on February 06, 2019, 16:58:16
The latest update to the VLC media player (4.0) will bring more features, especially for iOS. However, it will also no longer support older versions of the same platform, along with some others (e.g. Windows XP). It also now offers the ability to play a full list of music without pauses of any kind.

Not just that, but they still can't handle fractional UI scaling, so if you use any non-round value the whole UI is tiny (or blurry if you force it to be larger), basically invisible at 4K laptop displays with anything else than 200% scaling (so 1080/1200p effectively) or 100% native (unusable at 16" or under).
