Title: Samsung patents a laptop design with almost zero bezels
Post by: Redaktion on February 07, 2018, 02:24:40
The WIPO has published a Samsung patent that shows off an almost zero bezel design for its notebook. The patent, however, seems to be an ornamental one as no functionalities are described.

How is this useful ?  A small bump can now crack the LCD.  The bezels serve as a shock-absorbing buffer zone, which is important in laptops.

Same trend as with smartphones. Smartphones crack relatively easily because of the thin bezels, but for many people they're still solid enough to use in daily life. This is not going to be a laptop that 100% of the people likes, but it is probably built for a niche where people care about a lot the design
