Title: After strong Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order sales, analyst projects larger console launch than PS4 or PS5

Even facing criticism, the Switch 2 price may be low enough to set console sales records. Analysts in a Bloomberg report predict that the handheld will sell more in its first two weeks than the PS4 or PS5. Supply could threaten that record as Nintendo struggles to meet Switch 2 pre-order demand.

Wow, that blows my mind. People can buy a PS5 digital for $50 cheaper, better hardware (even being 5 years older), and 4 times the storage. You would have to spend another $60 to get half the storage that the PS5 offers. Along with $95 controllers, $80 first party nintendo games.

I gave up on nintendo after Wii, and I was a loyal customer since the nes days. I'm just tired of them cutting corners on hardware ever since the n64. And how pricey their games have been. And the gimmicks they would try. I give it up to them for the switch concept. However, I am not paying anywhere near $500 dollars+ for their hardware and to play emulations and games from 8 years ago  Ex (zelda BOTW) on switch 2, TOTK, or any other legacy games.

I've been saying the same thing over and over again about the switch 2 price. If people don't like, don't buy it, it's simple. There are lots of other options for less.

Or if you want the handle held experience,  buy a ps5 digital and the ps portal. That will run you 600$

More power, storage, larger library.

There has always been an additional cost associated for portable devices tho. I don't think there has ever been a point in history where you could get a handheld with the same power as a desktop or console even 5 years later for similar price. The psp launched in like what, 2005? And it was weaker than PS2 from 2000. By the time psp launched you could likely get a PS2 cheaper even tho it's launch price was more, I think.

People paying for a portable experience know very well they're having to pay more, years later for a weaker experience clearly. But it's a question of priorities.

The ps5 is a very nice piece of kit I admit but for me it has zero utility. I rather have something with a screen attached and comes with a battery. I'm willing to pay 4x as much as a digital ps5, just to get a strix halo laptop which is basically 5 years late for the same performance but costs a lot more, just for the fact that it is a more mobile device.
