Helldivers 2 players are enraged now that a minimum spec requirement is locking them out of the game. Following a recent update, players with older CPUs are unable to play as their systems can't support AVX2.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Helldivers-2-stops-working-on-older-systems-following-recent-optimizations-players-outraged.989219.0.html
If your garbage PC is old and sad, it's a liability for the connection stability and game quality of the other three people playing with you. If you're playing alone then you're wrong or dumb.

Exactly, stop being mad because your old a** PC can't handle it anymore, time for an upgrade, you knew this would happen stop blaming the developers, for your cheap a** habits.
This is exactly the same as the people who are still complaining that games aren't getting released on Xbox360 and/or PS3 anymore. It isn't the industry's responsibility to be beholden to outdated tech.

Erm, I honestly don't think the real arguement is do out of date tech but more the pricing of current tech these days.
Most people could care less if the industry decided to make the min spec requirement a rtx 5090. As long as you could get those cards for $500 and not $5000.
I also don't agree with the defense of "stop being so cheap" "just get another job". Like since when did we decide to stick up for multi trillion dolar corporations exploiting massive profits during an economic downturn / recession? Since when is paying mortgage level payments for a GPU justifiable in _any_ era? I don't see the logic. It's like being okay and voting for politicians that reduce taxation on people who are making passive income on properties worth 100+ million. It makes no sense.
Lastly, maybe people would be willing to spend more if there weren't such diminishing returns. Just look at the uproar with ps5 pro vs base ps5. You pay a lot more these days for something that barely looks any better. It just isn't worth it anymore.

Ahh... sooner or later nearly EVERYONE grows up enough to get off the Capitalistic Exercise/Spending Wheel that seemingly chases the "bleeding edge" while going nowhere. :)
Yes, anything 32bit only is OUT and 'the industry' is quietly picking away at more current/recent/modern CPU instructions/features that MUST be present for the software to execute.
"planed obsolescence"
Ether resign yourself to playing older & unaffected titles or get out your wallet.
