Panasonic's Lumix LX100 compact camera line-up may be getting a new model to compete with the recently announced Canon PowerShot V1, as Panasonic executives confirmed plans to address high compact camera demand. This will likely be the latest iteration of the compact camera with a Four Thirds sensor since the LX100 II, which launched in 2018 but remains wildly overpriced thanks to high demand and dwindling supply. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Panasonic-all-but-confirms-fixed-lens-compact-camera-coming-to-challenge-Canon-PowerShot-V1-as-Lumix-LX100-III-overdue.972286.0.html
All Panasonic has to do is include a good OLED EVF with at least 3.69Md resolution and it's an instant buy. Canon shot themselves in the head by only appealing to vloggers.
Keep it simple. EVF, IBIS, 20mp, articulated screen, manual exp comp dial, don't go insane with video specs or 60 frame bursts. Lens can't be swapped, so make it fast, and inside of 20-200. Maybe 24-150 or so. Make a good, versatile cam you can take on vacation. Price it lowish and you'd sell millions.
Yaaass finally some properly design implementation for sff M43 cameras. Now bring back the GX line.
Will this be a Leica pass me down because the D Lux 8 isn't flying off the shelves. I just hope it's a fixed focal length lens, those protracting lens are prone to dust and other issues.
I hope it will be weather and dust sealed because regularly getting dust on the sensor was a major flaw of the LX100. Which besides that was a great camera.
Am retired photographer,I don't want to lug around my old gear any more despite great quality.i would love a compact with a VIEWFINDER. I have used screens with twin lens reflex and other studio cameras. But composing
A shot on the current screens at arms length maybe good for vlogging, but not stills. Maybe just my age!!
