Title: Aluminum solid-state battery retains 99% capacity after 10,000 charging cycles
Post by: Redaktion on January 27, 2025, 20:44:14
In addition to the remarkable longevity, the study claims that charging efficiency, operational safety and recyclability are also major strengths of this new solid-state battery. At first glance, the energy storage disappoints in just one respect.

How does a "so-called" solid state battery have a liquid electrolyte. It's not solid state if it does, that is the very definition of solid state battery, it has solid electrolyte, not gel, paste or liquid.

What is the energy density in terms of volume? If it is good, it could be a solution for stationary applications.

This looks ideal for grid or local storage for solar wind etc. It will all come down to cost. Nobody cares if it needs to be bigger if the price is right

Everyone is kinda after batteries that can be used in cars and mobile devices. Battery factories are kinda very expensive to build/retrofit. And grid storage is kinda a small market (so much so that those projects are being reported here on NBC)

This is perfect for safety. Wait until the density can be 500w/kg and all application will use this
