Title: Antimatter propulsion: The future of interstellar travel
Post by: Redaktion on December 21, 2024, 21:09:46
A new study examines antimatter propulsion for spacecraft, showing that just 1 gram of antihydrogen could power 23 space shuttles—10 billion times more powerful than conventional rocket fuel. While production and storage hurdles remain significant, this technology could revolutionize space exploration.

Production and storage remain a hurdle. Not quite describing how grotesc that hurdle is!
Lets see:
-10nanograms a year means it would take 100.000.000 years to make a whole gram.
-Right now you cant even contain a simple fission reaction for a practical engine, you can still only dream of containing a fusion reaction on a terrestrial energy plant. Containing a matter/antimatter reaction is just unimaginable!
