UP.FIT has launched the world's first Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle along with other upfitted Tesla models for law enforcement departments nationwide. This gives departments quieter vehicles for stealth patrols and EV alternatives when making the move to electrification.https://www.notebookcheck.net/UP-FIT-launches-world-s-first-Tesla-Cybertruck-Next-Gen-Patrol-vehicle-for-law-enforcement-departments-nationwide.848596.0.html

Governments? This is a private corporation looking to fleece government coffers. Sure local politicians and police forces can say no, but the issue here is predatory companies that actively seek to divert district spending of superfluous tat instead of spending on useful measures to improve public safety.
Want to improve things? Vote for more government oversight and regulation to kick these parasite companies to the curb (not the maga chumps ripping up the rulebooks).
