Title: Tesla 4680 team head aims for cheaper Cybertruck and Model Y battery prices before it's too late
Post by: Redaktion on May 12, 2024, 10:07:36
Tesla has a new 4680 battery team lead who has been tasked with at least bringing the cell prices below those of suppliers like Panasonic and LG. Even then, the Cybertruck and Model Y cells will cost twice more than CATL or BYD batteries, though.

Therefore, Tesla's wasting money. by the time they beat their own target, we'll have batteries at U$ 40/Kwh (0.40/Wh).

There's no efficiency in that.

Something's wrong with your figures.
$.60/WH = $600/KWH, which is about 5x current RETAIL price for LiFePO4 cells.
Perhaps you meant $.06/WH?

So the 4680 team are guaranteed to fail. Just hurry up with the Catl partnership and build LFP here in the USA already. 4680 horse is already dead. Move on. Why are they so quick to fire 500 charging staff that are successful in meeting goals and yet keep 4680 program that is by its own metrics the biggest disaster in Teslas history? Because of this the USA now has the oldest batteries in the industry and China gets the newest and best. Catl next Gen LFP are amazing. No wonder sales are slowing.
