Title: HP announces new OMEN 17 gaming laptop with switch to AMD Ryzen after almost a decade of Intel
Post by: Redaktion on April 22, 2024, 20:51:15
HP has equipped the OMEN 17 with Intel processors since the laptop's introduction in 2016. The OMEN 17's reliance on Intel has changed with the OMEN 17 2024 though, which arrives with an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS APU, as well as design and GPU changes.

Uhm, a mid-range 8core HS and 4070 is not a replacement for a high end 8+16core 13900HX and 4090...
Also, only 300 nits on the screen... Why bother?

Again, moronic 16:9 and also shameful 2.5k instead of the correct 4k 16:10 with a ppi of at least 220+ to ensure high-quality text display (especially when using Chrome and similar browsers with guaranteed cloudy text, which cannot be disabled in the settings) and graphics and the most compatible with 4k/fhd video content at the level of pixel sharpness.

HP stopped making laptops that are interesting to buy a long time ago. Another piece of trash from the past...
