According to new rumours, Sony could finally be moving away from the limited software support it provides to its Xperia smartphones. Allegedly, up to five years of updates could be coming to the Xperia 1 VI, Xperia 5 VI and Xperia 10 VI when they launch later this year.

Whether it's 5 years of Android updates or just 5 years of security patches (and probably three or four Android updates), it's lightyears better than what Sony does, which is just two years of Android updates.

You know, like a Galaxy S5 from 10 years ago.

Might check out what Sony has to offer later this year and may even get a 5 VI if I have the money even though I already have an S24+
