A report from The Elec says the 11-inch OLED iPad Pro could cost US$1,500 for the entry-level variant. Its 13-inch counterpart is said to retail at US$1,800. Both tablets are scheduled for a 2024 launch. https://www.notebookcheck.net/2024-bound-OLED-iPad-Pros-could-come-with-a-prohibitively-high-price-tag.700003.0.html
Nobody will buy these iPadOS devices at those prices.
If they make them 16GB/512GB base config like with Macbook Pro 14 and 16 and let them run MacOS apps, then yes, they might, just might have a market share significant enough to make some money for Apple. Otherwise it will be instant flop.
...Still the price is insane, running MacOS on iPP has been technically possible since M1, artificially limiting it to some sort of M3/M4 would be...very Apple, in the despicable sense.
