According to new reports, Apple has no plans to release a new generation of any AirPods model this year. Instead, the AirPods 4 and AirPods Max 2 will likely debut in late 2024, and could be joined by an all-new AirPods model—the AirPods SE, maybe—seemingly planned to arrive with an MSRP around US$99.

I know it's standard practice to have three tiers of every product to maximize profit, but they're really cutting the potato thin here. What features could possibly support 3 tiers of airpods? They're nice and noise cancellation is a big deal for a step up, but anything else I just can't see it. Formerly known for their minimal product lineup, they've really swung hard into SKUs. Not quite HP/Dell/Samsung territory, but you can see it from here.
