Nvidia announced the RTX 4090 and the RTX 4080 on September 20. While both cards have been commended for their stellar performance increases over RTX 30 Ampere GPUs, many have bemoaned Nvidia's lackluster pricing, especially for the RTX 4080. But it appears RTX 4080's sky-high price tag hasn't dissuaded customers from buying the board as the card has become the best-selling GPU on Newegg.https://www.notebookcheck.net/Jaw-droppingly-priced-RTX-4080-is-selling-like-hot-cakes-on-Newegg.675093.0.html
It's insanity.
Fawad Murtaza, where is your evidence? Do not lie to us!
Newegg's Most Popular Graphics Cards list, updated today, on two pages, does not list any 4080:

Poor journalism. There's no such indication that it's a hot ticket item anywhere. Pure clickbait.
Lolol ya ok. Still over priced soooo
This is why the internet sucks now.
I thought my faith in humanity was already gone, but this takes the cake.
Noobs buying a 4080 for only 10$ less than a card nearly 50% more powerful.
People literally have no money management skills period.
Enjoy the next decade of depression fools.
It's droves not troves. Anyway, keep blowing up your retirement on solutions to lazy coding. Real bright.
Maybe someone had a personal stake in this with Newegg and or Nvidia?
Newegg's customer service and policies have left much to be desired over the years and no longer the retailer of choice for many.
I will keep my 3080FTW3 that I paid $700 BNIB direct from eVGA. These prices are crazy if you are a gamer. the 4080/4090 is a creators card now.
I guess I'll be sticking with my overclocked 1080ti for another generation. Unless of course red team convinces me. Excited to see what they have in store for 7950xt or 7990xtx. We've reached a very interesting point where I feel like all my needs are almost met. I don't need 8k, the most I'll ever need is 4k 120. Seems a lot easier to keep the same hardware for more time
Stopped using Newegg a decade ago when they denied my purchase, blamed my bank. Called my bank and they said lots of fraud on Newegg, might want to avoid using them or this will keep happening. So I bailed on Newegg. Have not had any issue similar with any other online retailer.
Lmfao newegg only has to claim its the top selling gpu and writers actually fall for it. Shouldnt you guys have some critical thinking?
The 4090 sold out in 15 minutes, 4080s are still in stores, never sold out at all. Still on amazon, best buy, b and h photo, microcenter. How cripplingly stupid do you have to be to fall for this?
Its simple, Newegg got more stock of the 4080s no one wanted than the 4090s which had no more stock to sell.
Yeah, Nvidia fans are fucking idiots, more at 11.

Not everyone buys these cards for gaming. And, more to the point, that $10 more expensive card is at this point incapable of acting as a replacement, in any capacity--meaning, at best it can make for a very, very expensive paper weight, if anyone were to foolishly purchase it before understanding this.
This is a horrible metric to go off of, it doesn't take into account the availability of the cards mentioned. The whole reason the ZOCRAP is even in the mix is because there's a S-ton of stock. If the 4090 was available at MSRP to everyone who wanted to buy one, it would easily be #1. My guess is the people buying the 4080 probably wanted a 4090, but you can't find them anywhere. The 4080's are hard to find but not at all impossible. The price/performance ratio of an MSRP 4080 is much better than a scalped 4090. If you need a new GPU and want a Nvidia card it makes sense.
I would generally ban games for children and young adults. An empty pastime for hours and days on end, instead of a valuable education and understanding of a world that is heading towards the abyss ...
I call b*******! This is just more fake news and a paid advertisement from Nvidia to sell more of their useless POS 4080 bricks!
Also did you hear the news that Nvidia is removing the game stream feature from their Nvidia Shield TVs?! Nvidia is a low life Dirtbag company that deserves to go under moving forward. Nvidia is boycotted in my book as I will never buy anything in video the rest of my entire life!

Ignorance at its best, hell WOW taught me to get better at math n calculations and management skills via managing a guild and people skills that weren't available to me otherwise and great friendships that have lasted 20+ years. Everything in moderation is key. Ok on topic I was lucky to grab a 4090 fe and if I hadn't I would never consider the 4080, this article is bogus.
Fake news, scalper shill drivel lol

Well, except at the school level. 2+2? How many textbooks could be read during this time and smart books to improve self-education and increase income...
I am still happy and satisfied that I've pick up a Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 Eagle 8GB GPU back in early April 2022 for $499 AUD as an upgrade to my ageing yet still capable Gigabyte Radeon R7 370 WindForce 2X OC 2GB GPU rather than waiting for the RTX 4000 series and RX 7000 series GPU's.

To play multiplayer with real adrenaline (for the sake of it everything is started) and then under the armpits, super graphics are not needed. You need super fast reactions to be in the top. Medium graphics quality.
In the single-player version (where all these prettinesses are just important) any game, for the alternatively gifted, well, except for the elementary grades of the school, and even then it is better for schoolchildren to learn mathematics and physics for a start (in order to understand what is happening at least in an electrical outlet), since The US lags far behind China's overall school and college students in this regard, according to a variety of well-known tests.
4080s are only "selling like hotcakes" because all the stock was bought up by scalpers hoping to make a quick buck, but since no one reasonable's buying an overpriced 4080, scalpers are trying to get them refunded on Newegg. BUT since Newegg dropped the return policy for 4080s, scalpers are stuck with them while Newegg can "claim" that 4080s are "selling like hotcakes" to entice regular consumers to buy overpriced 4080s now that the scalpers have stopped buying any of the new stock coming in.
We're not idiots. notebookchat is going to quickly lose trust by promoting garbage shillful journalism. If this keeps up I'm removing them from my newsfeed.
Oh Gods, another garbage article in my feed. When will it stop?
Lol do some research before writing articles.
The only reason the 4080 sold well was because of card scalpers buying up all the stock immediately...and now those scalpers are struggling to sell them because places like newegg have stopped doing refunds because of this.
There are 4080s online that can't sell at the msrp right now in bulk.
As being newer to this it seems that some off shoots of the 30 and 40series are rather unique, not only in reduced performance or not stabile enough. Not against ventus but id pause and check out the 10 3070's 3090's, 40's. What seemed to win over the array of models were TI, Gaming, and X models, spec per $. Am i on the right path?🤔
Can't believe how people actually went for the 8gb 3060. I'll just assume they weren't informed how bad it is tho before buying something I'm always researching the product's performance and compare it with others lol

Where is your evidence? Yeah there stock, likely because Nvidia sold a lot more 4080 chips.

100% I saw this posted on Reddit and on other places. Might be paid media from NVidia. Or paid media by scalpers.
Please stop using racist term "scalper", it has a hateful and racist origin, please call these people what they are, they are capitalists of the so-called free-market that everyone seems to love.

You'll need to speak to the Oxford dictionary about that. You might want to get a better understanding of the term if you think it is racist. Especially if you're going to take on the world's dictionaries with your false and misguided claims of hate and racism.
I've given up on Nvidia. Been a Nvidia users since they acquired 3Dfx when I had a Voodoo card.
I bought the 3080 when released an got hit with delays cause they focussed on crypto an screwed us over. Year later cancelled when retailer wanted £100 more.
Endless cards later an now ready to look to AMD for PC or will just stick to PS5 for gaming.
Your arrogance an price gouging is a thing of the past for me!

Racist words can become non-racist ones if scalpers like you didn't keep the racist meaning alive. No one has used that in a racial context in 100 years btw, you're the only racist doing that.

No one is surprised you decrepit geriatric, but we live in the year 2022 where the only losers who still blame video games for everything are mormons, evangelicals, and the people's republic of china.
Click-bait.
There article had nothing to do with the title. Shame on Google for not catching this.
