Post by: Redaktion on October 17, 2022, 18:55:29

Well, here is another confirmation that it is high time to tie with copper wires. Why are they delaying the transition to optics? It's no problem to transport power in parallel over copper wires, but for several years now data has to go over optical cables, which have no limits on bandwidth and cable length.

The only reason seems to be that the common man, even in the "developed" world, still does not always wash his hands when required, and therefore the developers are afraid of improper exploitation of such cables by unscrupulous townsfolk. I can't find any other technical reason...

It's time to make a new standard for 200-250 Gbit/s on hybrid optic+copper(power only) cable and close the topic for 6-7 years...Tired of these senseless throwing and slow "cutting off the tail in parts" ...
