The sharp edges are hard to understand from an ergonomic point of view.
In daily use the sharp edges are not noticeable from an ergonomic point of view (neither with the iPad Air since 2 weeks or for one year with the big iPad Pro 12.9). These are more a problem for laptops (e.g. MacBook Pro line).
