Rivian just pulled a Tesla as its CEO announced in an earnings call that the EV truck maker will be switching its standard-range fleet vehicles to the cheaper and more available LFP batteries this year. Using iron instead of the rarer nickel or cobalt, these batteries are also the ones Tesla installs in its standard-range Model 3 or Model Y now.
