People talking about the 8060S.... you guys realise the sheer size and added cost of the iGPU basically puts Strix Halo in a class of its own?

I just bit the bullet and bought a Lunar Lake chip last year and I have no regrets vis-a-vis graphics performance because the price for Halo is halo pricing I could not afford, lol

I have always used igpus. It's great to see both sides bringing their A game to the table. Best for the consumers.

I am currently using a Vega 8 based apu for everything. It's great. I am so pumped for the new generation and even the ones after that. Fingers crossed for good price and great performance.

You should have included the 8060s for a valid comparison. It's definitely not narrowing.

There is a clear distortion in the comparison since most of the 890Ms tested have a very tight power limit (50-80W) between mini PCs and gaming laptops (with dGPU included) while the 140V is limited to thin and light laptops with power limits between 25 and 30W.

I should have noted with Intel's Panther Lake moving to Xe3 based on Celestial and get more cores, and AMD possibly sticking to RDNA3.5, the Intel iGPU will absolutely smash Medusa Point next year given how well Lunar Lake performs.

890M is a bit underwhelming. Despite 33% more cores than the 780M, it's at best 15-20% better. It's highly bandwidth starved so not surprising it doesn't do better. Medusa point needs to move to 256 bit bus and support LPDDR5 8533 at a minimum, just like Halo.

The Radeon 890M still holds the edge on most games, but the Arc 140V isn't too far behind. The gap is the narrowest we've seen in a long time between the competing iGPUs.
