The refusal to blame Nvidia for creating a card that will randomly demand far more power than the cable is rated for is why nobody trusts reporters or manufacturers anymore. The card should never be demanding more than the cable is rated to carry, 670w on a 600w cable for a card rated to 575 and nobody blames Nvidia for making that possible? Ok...

First thing I'm doing is undercoating and power limiting that card

There's no way nVidia doesn't push for a boosted slot-based power spec for the next generation.

PC gamers are currently experiencing flashbacks after a user reported their Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition GPU's power connector has started melting. Unfortunately for the owner of the GPU in question, it doesn't look like a warranty or recall will be the solution this time around.
