Tesla will never be as good as other manufacturers as long as Musk keeps playing engineer. Every other company uses lidar. Musk refuses to use lidar without any good reason.

Well Elon said it's really safe ....he also took 250k for the roadsters that he said would be coming next year ....for like 8 years straight...then wouldn't give the money back.
Somehow his word doesn't convince me.  Even his companies own AI has to admit he is a liar.

the title is clicbait, at no point did Tesla say that. They said it's 6x safe period. It was a separate statement when they mentioned drivers turning off autopilot to text

"The car has to know what time of day it is, read the sign. Anyway, we'll get this solved."
This is from Elon who said they'd have a Tesla drive itself the entire way across USA in 2018? And it can't yet figure out what the time of day is, yeah right! Sounds like classic misdirection.

Curious why this is published since Elon's credibility in terms of speaking truth is fairly low, even from an objective viewpoint.   There's a very good chance this is as made-up as his promises for FSD for close to a decade now.

New Teslas are now driving themselves to their respective loading docks and will soon be in a fleet of autonomous vehicles that will form the basis of the paid Cybercab ride-share service.
