I would dare say that PC & Nintendo stuff have always been a solid combo. Even the most hardcore PC gamers will agree that owning a Nintendo device can be useful when having kids over or some more casual friends.
Agreed on both accounts.
While the general rule of thumb is that releases that are compatible with the Switch will dry up over the next 1-2yrs after the release of the Switch2, the Switch along with the large catalog of games that run on it is still a viable/usable platform.
IMHO: folks own a Nintendo device for the exclusives
Currently a Steam Deck is the lowest price/entry point into non-Nintendo gaming (be it portable or otherwise) so I'd expect it to be fairly common for people to have ether a PC/Xbox/PS and a Nintendo.
Which one is 'primary' or they got first is anyone's guess.
