Although OT, this is an interesting topic. You are lucky indeed! My computer-related hardware failures (other than old batteries) since 1983:

- home PC bought 1986, after a few years starving too thin electric connections below the keys of the keyboard *
- early notebook bought 1990, after a few years broken hinges *
- Compaq notebook bought 1995, after a few years broken hinges *
- DIY desktop built 2009, after 9.5 years dying mainboard
- router in the 2000s, after several years died from excess electricity due to a nearby lightning strike
- original Apple USB-lightning cable bought with iPad in 2015, after ca. 5 years broke from being built by far too thin near the plug *
- Fujitsu-Siemens keyboard bought in the 2010s set battery being replaced on fire (Luckily only the battery!) due to too tightly built electric connections in the battery compartment and a missing power button
- Epson inkjet printer, after ca. 10 years of usage, died in 2023 from leaking ink (What a mess!)

* are cases of planned obsolescence, excessively greedy cost savings or great incompetence. The keyboard fire was a consequence of incompetence. Inkjet printers have thin ink cables and therefore my printer missed protection on the bottom to prevent greater damage from any leakage. That mainboards or their components do not have eternal life is expected. Lightning cannot be avoided, although partial overvoltage protection might be installed.

It angers me that many manufacturers have not learnt or continue planned obsolescence for easy, basic components, such as hinges and cables.

I must be lucky. The only hardware I have had fail is an OCZ SSD, and that was in the early days of SSDs, so they can be forgiven.

No other piece of technology from any company has really failed me otherwise. Have used Dell, HP, Acer, Pixels, OnePlus, Samsung, Microsoft, Apple(ick, hated the environment,) etc.

Trump is a demagogue promising "Great America" but his sinister real agenda is different. He drives USA and the puppet states that follow US to a pre-globalized era where markets were protected by borders and market expansion was only possible through military invasion.

This "nation based markets" was what cultivated ultra-nationalism and fascism in the 20th century, and brought us two world wars. But this is exactly what he is betting on:

Since USA can not compete any longer with China on economic terms he wants to bring in the military and take over the lost US dominance by military force putting on the line the lives of billions of people globally.

What I call - 'ill companies' attack on the market/consumers - IS NOT JUST AN US company GREED campaign for the last few years.

Samsung, a Korean company, the ring leader of inflation, is ON RECORD stating that it were increasing its DRAM prices due to the claim that then it "lost revenue due to post-covid low prices."

Sony, a Japanese company, has raised the price of the PS5/PS5 ProNOUN, from the PS4 (299/349/399), waaaay over 200%.

TSMC, a Taiwanese company, has literally has the market at hostage by increasing its prices to just unbelievable numbers (and this company needs a reality Trump's Tariff/Tax the most than others... FAST)

Huawei, a Chinese company, releases 1000+ stacks phones (with very cheap components/hardware) that has no TRUE OS for global delivery and has released phones that cost up to 4000 stacks just for the screen(s) be destroyed by just opening it... on & on, folks!!!

So, this clearly shows that this is NOT just an American greedy sickness, its global, like it or not.

WISE consumers will not be affected by Trump's tariffs, only the weak/impatient/impulse buyers and that is what they deserve and it's looong over due.

Nvidia is mostly funded by interest in "AI" and not consumer products.

It is un-American to NOT profit as much as possible - of COURSE these companies squeeze as much profit out of their products as the market can bear!!! It is Capitalism101 and the American Way!!

While all the 'greedy American Companies' were outsourcing the majority of their jobs to China and reaping the profits a smaller and smaller number of products are being made INSIDE the USA.

So when the new administration puts import tariffs on all these goods that Americans purchase guess what? The CONSUMERS will be paying for the tariffs!! (gee, that is what everyone voted for!!)

If this is left to play out for enough years maybe just maybe some American companies will start making products INSIDE the USA, however in the mean time consumers are going to be paying higher prices.

Can you say "inflation"? I knew you could. :)

Trump won because the majority of consumers are tired of these companies and the market needs a super huge reset... ASAP!!!

Sorry, but I do not buy your tale. Simply speaking, Trump won because too many simple-minded voters liked "America first!". They would not even think as far as tariffs until they will wake up and realise - not what they have voted for - but that they cannot pay the allegedly even greedier computer manufacturers. Then Trump, the saviour, will rescue them by cutting taxes. Maybe. Or distract them by invading Panama and Greenland.
