That's the list price, which in Lenovo's case is almost always set high, presumably so they can easily offer discounts through the year.

At the end of 2024, the 8GB/256GB model is available for $200, which seems like a reasonable deal given that you get two Android updates (from 14 to 16) and security updates to 2028. I could see retiring it to a role as a home media playback display after then and not feel bad about spending the money.

The other thing for me is that the feel of cold metal instead of glass or plastic when holding a device is indescribably lux.
