True but you still need a thunderbot 4 port to an external GPU dock. Did check price on that around 150.00 but that makes 2 separate items. I bought this setup because I own 3 different GPU"S so no added cost. SORRY Worst case no thunderbolt on an older laptop you need an interface pci-e dock / atx power supply and a EX GD interface cable with mini pci-e or m.2 ngff card slot on the laptop. oh some use a 32mm or 55mm expresscard cost $220.00 still no GPU yet. Either way it's still around 1200.00 bucks
Fun contraption that allows you to pick some parts, namely the GPU, but the claim "Gaming-ready mini PC and eGPU for under $1000 USD" excludes the price of the GPU you need to purchase to make use of the eGPU dock (because that's the whole point). Let's not forget a display, which you may already have, but still.
With a half-decent graphics card purchase, you're in gaming notebook territory without a screen, battery, or portability.
Honest question, does this setup offer any advantage?
Mini PC eGPU docking stations were both uncommon and pricey just a few years ago, but the Beelink EX dock is one of the least expensive options thus far without needing to sacrifice features or quality along the way.
