you fail to mention that MOST of the features (which are great) are available ONLY with subscription, including an ability to stream image to your computer, etc.
Basically, they lose on selling hardware, but make up for it (increasingly) with shifting more and more features in the subscription model. I personally feel that the subscription model rakes up significantly higher cost to the end-user, but hey, if people don't mind being fleeced, from a business perspective, why not fleece them?
