Sure I guess if users still have an upgrade path on AM4 then these CPUs could be useful but I still think the prices are too high.

5000 series is not all that impressive anymore except 5800x3d for gaming.
But that's my opinion.

Lmao. The CPU is not even released yet, but what else to expect from a dumb spambot. The 9800X3D is in stock just fine though.

Also the 5900x at $226. No delayed delivery dates or anything like that. Also from Amazon, not some Chinese seller. Most of the AM5 stock were bought up by scalpers. Stop buying scalped prices if you want to get rid of them.

Quote from: usacomputer on November 22, 2024, 12:34:41I'm looking in all the US stores, even the most important ones in Europe, and almost all AMD chips are out of stock. In the US it's impossible to find the AMD 7 9800X3D. ALL STORES ARE OUT OF STOCK, not to mention the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D. I think all the Chinese have taken it because I've never seen it.
And the rest of the processors are more of the same, some units in Europe and there are a lot of scams. Be careful, make sure because I've seen several scams and prices of $200-400 more expensive. I'd rather wait for another scam.
This is a disaster. AMD has to come up with a solution and tell TSMC to increase its production, especially now at Christmas.
funny, just checked Amazon and they have the 7800x for $265.00. You sound like you need to pay off the coffee.

That price is for used CPUs.  New 5900x cost $299 still.

The AM4 platform is now a couple of generations old, but still popular enough that even in 2024 AMD is releasing new chips in the form 5900XT. Whether you want to go for a 2024 chip or one released in 2020, you can get 12 and 16 cores of AM4 goodness at rock bottom prices on Amazon right now.
