Sounds ignorant. If google divests from Chrome or so to say, who is going to buy it? Chrome doesn't make any money itself.

Therefore, likely buyers would be:

Microsoft - So they can reclaim their monopoly

Chinese - So they can install their own spyware into it

Google Shell company - So they can take it outside US law

Opportunistic shell company - Install spyware and sell user data

Crack down on Google!

Yeah, just so another government-controlled buyer to give the DOJ, ect. FULL ACCESS/CONTROL (in secret/backdoors) over ALL USERS DATA worldwide. Everyone that uses chromium and Android will be at MORE severe risk of their privacy, SUPER TRACKING/ALWAYS-LISTENING contraption all in the name of "protecting you from yourself & National Security" concerns. 😏

Either way, though... Google (Alphabet) will never be the same (a great thing) but that also applies to the Android, ect. users as well.

It's over!

The US Department of Justice has found Google to be a monopoly, forcing competitors out of the search market through its control over the Chrome web browser and Android smartphone operating system. The final proposal seeks to force the divesture of Chrome, even Android, to reopen the market.
