I know. Riiiight??? Processors made on 4 nm are better and faster than 5 year old processors that were fabbed on 10 mm (Intel)/7 nm (AMD). Imagine that. Smaller transistors use less power.

Lol.
Why does this sound so discount Cupertinoishly Apple? Like there's a reality distortion field hidden inaide this seemingly innocuous statement.

That's some garbage writing you got going on there. A lot of claims from biased sources, with no particular details offered over the hardware and the tests, nor more substantial reports from those same tests rather than some vague pointless percentages.

CPUs that ate clearly not as versatile as our current gen desktop CPUs, and that power efficiency is expected by default given the type of processor they are, so the article builds up nothing.

Could we actually have some details of what they compared them to, what laptops, which cpu's, where screen resolutions the same, same brightness levels etc. I have no doubt at all they would be massively better, especially on battery, just want to know what we are comparing.
