I mentioned the model and app versions in the article. However, I have to agree with you that the title is at least misleading. Really sorry about that and thanks you all for pointing it out!

People like you are just plain stvp!d. Try to understand before replying stvp!d sh!t like this.

That person is entirely right! Stop confusing the Gemini chatbot (previously Bard) with the Gemini model.

Feb 2023: Google introduced Bard (the chatbot)
Dec 2023: Google introduced Gemini 1.0 (the model)
Feb 2024: Google renamed Bard to Gemini

The title indeed makes no sense.

"Google Gemini 1.5 (previously Google Bard) might get a successor in December"

The title is wrong, Gemini 1.5 was never called Bard.

1. Gemini 1.5 is their "model" and its name has never changed.
2. Gemini is their "chatbot" which was previously called Bard.

Gemini and Gemini 1.5 are two different things, like ChatGPT and GPT-4o1.

As everyone races for the release of next-gen AI models these days, Google is also getting ready to unleash Gemini 2.0. While the December launch of this flagship AI product is a mere rumor for the time being, an official statement regarding this topic might surface in the coming days.
