QuoteNot very surprising with such a monster of a CPU, the performance of the Lenovo ThinkPad 16p Gen 5 is excellent. Among the reviewed devices, it offers the highest performance, both in the singlecore and multicore test.
A direct lie from the author. The 7945HX was and remains the king of mobile processors, even 2 years after its announcement. Moreover, with significantly lower consumption in PL1. And precisely according to NB reviews(www.notebookcheck.net/Minisforum-AtomMan-G7-PT-review-Compact-gaming-mini-PC-with-AMD-Ryzen-9-7945HX-and-Radeon-RX-7600M-XT.859693.0.html / www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-ROG-Strix-G17-G713PI-Gaming-laptop-impresses-in-the-test-with-the-new-Ryzen-9.701633.0.html), not other people's reviews from other sites. And also in battery mode - the 7945HX is faster.

QuoteEven during everyday usage such as web surfing, the fans will be audible. If you want to keep the fans quiet, the mode "Best battery life" limits the fan to roughly 28 dB(a).
Why is this not reflected in the noise table in different modes? Let me remind that the acceptable noise level is <=26 dB(A) in everyday work and this is the level that manufacturers of different devices position as "quiet".

After the comments to the author, can move on to the criticism of the model itself:
1. Again, a stupid 3.2K screen, completely incompatible at the pixel level with 4K and FHD video. And this is a "professional" series! Lenovo, why does your development department continue to step on the same rake again and again? Where are the 4K panels at 144Hz, with a response time of no more than 6-7ms on G2G/B2W? Well, thank goodness that this 3.2K can at least render 60Hz without problems, although all publicly available video will not be 100% clear at the pixel level. Again, in the processional series, incomplete AdobeRGB coverage. Again, the contrast is below 1500:1, with a guarantee in the psref about this level.

2. The design of the port layout and the shame of the lack of RJ45(not to mention 5Gbps, as the norm today), it is not there at all(!), in the "professional" series! Why 2xTB4 on the left, instead of being located at the back (or symmetrically on the left and right), like RJ45? There should only be two ports (on each side) USB-A at 10Gbps each on the left and right. Plus, optical SPDIF is highly desirable for galvanic isolation from the laptop's power supply circuits for pure sound on external DACs. These changes and additions cost pennies in the overall price of the laptop, but significantly increase the capabilities and ease of use of the laptop.
3. Again, the row of keys Esc, F1..F12 on the keyboard is narrowed in height by half. Why this stupid saving on penny plastic, which ruins the ergonomics of high-speed blind typing and software control?

Lenovo is clearly resting on its laurels, seeing its share of the global laptop market, but the ground under its feet is increasingly shaky ...

Meanwhile, ASUS, despite its multiple problems with laptops, is slowly taking away the global market share from others, according to the latest statistics, especially since it is always the first in the world to get access to the latest AMD mobile chips in mass quantities and the first to release laptops on them, which are really available in all countries, unlike the rest of the "big" four manufacturers. I am already more worried and rooting for Asus, and not for Lenovo, because the latter seems to have completely forgotten about the real needs of buyers. Its "golden age" is coming to an end on the global market.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 5 IRX is the most powerful model of the SMB laptop series ThinkBook. With a wide gamut display, the strongest i9 for laptops and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060, it targets the creator and multimedia market. But not only creators might find it attractive - the ThinkBook is also gaming-ready.
