Yup, I'm thoroughly surprised that Apple dropped the ball so badly on that one. I definitely cannot watch movies properly without audio pass-through. It's my Denon that manages how audio should be processed and sent to the speakers. My PC has no idea where my speakers are placed and how they are individually equalized... my Denon does!

If the programs you want to use work on OS Retro Bowl College X, then probably, but there are plenty of programs that don't work on Mac (especially games, emulators, etc.) so it's not an easy cut.

$150 cheaper than the Beelink, and probably better (more silent) cooling, so... Not bad (unless you need oculink and/or more USB-C).

MINISFORUM has confirmed launch pricing for its first AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370-powered mini-PC. Unfortunately, it turns out that the EliteMini AI370 will cost an awful lot more than earlier EliteMini systems with AMD Ryzen APUs.
