Next gen needs to focus on 3 things. 1.)  Massively improving gpu performance, 200% required at least to compete against 2025 offerings. 2.) Greatly improving software compatibility 3.) Greatly reducing power. Performance is already good but it uses way more power than M3 Max. 80W peak is higher than Strix Poiht HX 370 and gpu is pitiful.

Also don't forget next year Qualcomm will have stiff competition as Nvidia and Mediatek are joining forces to offer ARM for Windows. And then in 2026 AMD enters the market with hybrid ARM/x86 SoC called Soundwave.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus chipsets have not been out long. Nonetheless, a leaker has provided early details about second-generation successors, which Qualcomm is said to be developing under the terms SC8480XP and 'Project Glymur'.
