This is by far the best laptop on the go for 2024.

There is no other latop that combines the following:

1. Top Multi-core performance (CB=3350) while having 16.5 hours battery and lightweight!
2. OLED screen with 100% P3, Adobe coverage!
3. Lowest price possible at $1200!

Well done Asus and AMD!

Before Lunar Lake
1.  Apple M3
2.  AMD zen5 laptop hx365, hx370
3.  Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite
4.  Intel 155h or whatever

After Lunar Lake
1.  Apple M3
2.  AMD zen5 laptop
3.  Intel 268 or whatever
4.  Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite

Competition isn't putting pressure on the leaders in the field ...

I own an Asus s16 hx365 laptop.  At first I bought an open box laptop but the 802.11b Wi-Fi had very very poor range - it could not reach my bedroom.  I returned the open box and purchased a new laptop which had slightly better range (about 10 ft extra) in 802.11b.  this laptop just barely reaches my bedroom - laying down with the laptop on my stomach, if I cross my legs the Wi-Fi cuts out.

Weirdly the 802.11a and 802.11g Wi-Fi range is better.  It's definitely not supposed to be better the modulation and link budget is less for these two higher speed standards!  So this anomaly is likely either an antenna problem or a problem in the mediatek adapter.

When you get the laptop you must immediately update the MediaTek Wi-Fi driver to the latest version!  Otherwise the laptop will connect to an access point but it will fail to send data and struggle!

The MediaTek adapter on my Asus is definitely the worst 802.11b adapter of the PCS I use, by a small margin.  The 802.11a and 802.12g is actually the best (with longest range) so ymmv.

Well done AMD and I am waiting for intel's respond. Hopefully, also snapdragon will survive this as a competition is really needed on the market and we all benefit from it.

Indeed. Competition is a VERY GOOD thing for Consumers.

IMHO: The Qualcomm powered devices will migrate to the BOTTOM of the price/performance ladder in the market and displace the weak AMD & Intel offerings.

While AMD will seemingly still have the "console gaming" market for their low end APU's they and Intel will have to compete with ARM devices in the "embedded" market where dirt cheap ARM devices are KING.

So correct me if I am wrong...
Traditional windows laptop, 64-bits, wins competition against almost twice more expensive Macbook m3 pro in key fields: processor performance, noise level and battery life. In addition, you can replace SSD. I wonder why it was not directly compered to Macbook in this review, both devices belong to the group of subnotebooks, similar performance, form factor, just different price. Oh well, due to 64 bit architecture, full compatibility with all windows software. This machine is a nail to the coffin of just born snapdragon chip and it seems like it's just a first one because Intel is going to follow AMD soon... I mentioned it some time ago: the biggest benefit of the appearance of snapdragon chip is improved competition on the market- this pushed AMD and Intel to increase the effort and supply more advanced cpus.
This had to upset many apple fans...

But speaking seriously, whoever likes apple will stick to apple, whoever likes windows will be bit happier having more power, better battery life and less noise. Quote from: MTK wifi on August 28, 2024, 23:43:35Are mediatek WiFi chips safe to use yet? I see few people saying they never had issues, some saying they used to but much improved now & fixed, others saying they're still garbage -- so what's the verdict?

Have to say, this is some very impressive battery life. May even rival apple when running under Linux with tweaks.

Apparently, Geekerwan has stated that the latency issues of Zen 5 will be fixed by AMD as well.
dont use MediaTek wifi if you can they dont work as well as intel wifi

It already rivals. Under the Battery evaluation box, enter "M3 Pro' and select the 14" M3 Pro MacBook and should see a similar 960 min from a 72.6 Whr battery. This 370HX has a much better battery life with the same MediaTek wi-fi chipset than the Asus ProArt 16" and 13". Maybe even better than the S16.

After the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 inside the Zenbook S16 only fulfilled its performance potential to a limited extent, we are daring to try again by taking a look at the VivoBook S 14. In doing so, this also raises the question of whether the Radeon 890M iGPU can come close to the Intel Arc 8.
