That sounds like pure BS... Nintendo wouldn't break backward compatibility by going with AMD SOC x86 instead of ARM + Nvidia.

Basically assures it will be hackable to pirate games. There will be plenty of vulnerabilities with the chips.

No surprises here:

- Battery Life
- Weight

are higher priority at Nintendo then bells+whistles & performance.

Given the Nvidia APU would be ARM+Nvidia GPU vs any AMD x86+AMD GPU APU, Nintendo can/could maintain backwards compatibility.

While personally I'd like to see 'handheld gaming systems' more closely replicate the hand-to-hand distance of a 'standard' controller, having decent runtime on battery & weight down is important to.

Leaked Switch 2 specs suggest that the upcoming gaming handheld will feature the Nvidia Tegra T239 SoC. AMD reportedly wanted to power the console, but Nintendo didn't move forward with the company due to battery life concerns.
