This is a very generic review. What are the camera's dynamic range? With adequate range, 'real' screens can be worked into the virtual environment.

Also worth mentioning it has two USB-C ports, which speaks well for thoughtful expandability.

But it seems to have lost the option of detaching the battery pack.

I've owned original Pico 4, but traded it in for Quest 3 when it came out. In addition, have the PSVR2. I was playing Peaky Blinders a lot on Pico, then decided to buy it on Playstation store. Immediately, the vibrancy of the colours stands out as opposed to the washed out original Pico 4. However, they promise improved brightness and colour correction on the Ultra, hope this is the case? It's comfort though that's prime. I never got on well with my Quest 3, it sits in it's box as too front heavy for my liking, even with more rigid head strap. Pico 4 was fabulous for weight distribution, I just hope they've improved the visual s!

The Pico 4 Ultra is a new VR headset with a wide variety of use cases, great image quality and decent MR functions. Although the system can certainly be used as a cheaper alternative to the Apple Vision Pro, it does come with some limitations - these could, however, be solved with the help of software updates.
