This starts a whole new trend of device and computing. Honor, Xiaomi and Tecno will launch similiar products soon.

This is just dumb. Who does this ridiculous overpriced UNDERPERFORMER suppose to cater to?

Right at 3000 stacks?!?! GTFOH with that foolishness!

For 3000 stacks, you can't even process REAL creative workloads on the go. This thing looks like a very light West-wind could easily break this fragile looking thing.

Over 2M pre-orders? Yeah right. I would like to know how these phones were REALLY purchased! CCP?!?!?! 🤔
wow so much cope in your reply. CCP? why on earth do you have to bring politics into this? I swear western brains are so rotted by china living rent free in those uneducated skulls.

anyway this phone looks fantastic and it's TRUE innovation in the mobile space. no other company could accomplish this but Huawei (maybe Honor could though). clearly this high-end cutting edge foldable isn't for the everyday user. And if you've ever used a foldable, more specifically an outward folding phone (I am with the Honor V Purse), you'd know these phones are SIGNIFICANTLY more durable than they initially seem. dropped this thing on dirty concrete with debris, in a muddy sandy puddle, and typical hardwood floor and nothing but miniscule blemishes that have zero effect on the screen or viewing experience. I'm surprised myself but it just goes to show these foldables are here to stay and more than tough enough.

you are right this is priced astronomically high but that's the price of niche and staying on the cutting edge. can you name any single product or product category that releases new-age, latest cutting edge tech for cheap! cause I can't think of a SINGLE brand, industry, product category, or niche that does.

I'd have bought it if I lived in China and had a good income.

there will be credible demand for a tri-folding device in other markets. just like there's a market for larger screens & bi-folding devices today.

it looks to be as (sturdy) as existing folding devices today. so not fragile - which is important. bc i can't see how any phone case will work. it'll just need a single screen protector.

Huawei has just officially unveiled the Mate XT Ultimate Design, the latest in a long line of foldable Mate X smartphones. The Mate XT has quite a few tricks up its sleeve though, some of which have been revealed by early hands-on footage.
