Right. Poor and improper English should not be praised. Good on the AI for not doing so either.

True. Just because people who have this so called "African American English" tend to have lower paying jobs and commit more crime, doesn't make it a *racist* fact or any less true. The AI isnt being biased but is using statistical analysis to make the best decision or output with the best accuracy.

"This could have far-reaching implications, especially as AI systems become increasingly integrated into critical areas like employment and criminal justice, where fairness and *equity* is critical above all else."

I think you meant *equality*. Equity (i.e. disproportionate treatment) has no place in employment or criminal justice, has never had a place in the legal system, and other than very leftist individuals, is heavily frowned upon by most people.

As it should be biased.
The first example is what you learn in school. The other is what you learn on street.

But this story is what is expected  coming the promoters on industry of perpetual racism.

I am sure it is also biased against Italian American English dialects, against Spanish American English dialects, Polish American English dialects, Germanic American English dialects, Indonesian American English dialects etc...

I notice that the author had no care about that, which tells you all about the authors and those that do propaganda to this.

Of course this don't tell you the whole story about any persons on said characteristics. It is a partial information.

This is as stupid as the people wanting to push 'x' or 'e' as a plural option in Spanish

Recent research uncovers covert biases in AI language models, particularly against African American English (AAE). These models continue to associate AAE with negative stereotypes, influencing decisions in employment and criminal justice. The study uses "matched guise probing" for proof of concept.
