The fossil fuel industry (and many other corporations) have the ability to learn. Many of the so called environmental groups and protests are funded and controlled by them. They have been doing that to block renewable energy, EVs and etc
PS the only rare earth inside an EV drivetrain is in the motors, and even that isn't necessary as AC induction motors don't use rare earth
