Performance is still terrible so all their updates are irrelevant. Photoshop and Affinity Photo 2 are absolutely flying on the same PC but this thing is performing like a drunk tired snail.

Ive been using the newest beta release for a while now, and things look great! The only sticking point is that I can't edit text boxes after a transformation has been applied, which is a bummer.

It looks as though the long-awaited GIMP 3.0 release may be soon upon us, with the GNU Project announcing a string freeze for the latest developer preview build. Between overhauled colour management tools, a refined UI, and, finally, a simple stroke selection tool, GIMP 3.0 is looking to be a big release for the free, open-source Photoshop alternative.
