It's kinda funny yeah. Although in some ways I'm all for it. Remember before these EU directives, emulation was not possible. So I'm all for anything that further enables this on more devices.
Apple has announced that it will indeed comply with the directives of the European Union's Digital Markets Act that require it to enable alternatives to in-house apps such as Safari, Apple Photos and the App Store by the end of 2024. However, these new iOS and iPadOS features will be region-dependent.
