Zen 5 is not more efficient than Zen 4, the benchmarks have shown this conclusively. 9700X uses the same power as 7700 in apps, but is less efficient in gaming getting less fps/W and when one uses PBO its efficiency is poor.
Zen 5 has absolutely nothing going for it so far. Grossly overpriced and underperformant. Arrow Lake i5 will destroy even 9700X let alone what the i7 will do. AMD outright lied about 9600X and 9700X performance, it's basically criminal. They claimed 9700X was 13% faster than 14700K which is so far from the truth it might as well have come from Trump.
People are not upgrading their pc every year, if previous generation was good enough people will stock up and keep it until they feel they get a decent upgrade for their money.
Well, these processors will be a hit on Black Friday when they go down even more and people are back from their vacations. Those who don't buy them are obviously gamers and will wait for the X3D. What people won't do is buy an Intel Core 13 or Core 14 that burns out despite the patch.
