When Elon so-called "donated" hundreds (may even thousands) of this system to Ukraine, days... I mean freaking days later... Elon announced the price hike to these units right after this "donation" to Ukraine. 😏

Coincidence?!

Yes, it's a coincidence. Also everything you said was wrong. I paid $500 USD for a Starlink kit in March of 2021 and paid $99 per month for the service in the United States.

What you're seeing is that they have reached a point of scalability with their terminal production that they can produce not only multiple models of terminals for different use cases but also produce a surplus of them. Since they can do that they can sell them at a slight loss and make up the difference with the subscription price, after all it doesn't matter if your profit margins on your terminal are big if nobody buys them.

So when I *clearly* stated "this price is ***around***... in YOUR mind, that means *at the same MSRP then, huh?! 😏

Also, when I also stated "at launch" you... again... sidestepped and brought up 2021?!

Uhm... Starlink was not **initially launched** in 2021. 😏

A warning to potential Starlink customers...  Starlink is amazing.

However, the service and support can go from helpful to very, very, very bad.  As in, no response for days.  If you rely on Internet connectivity, have a backup plan in action in case you can't get in touch with support.  I've had great experience with the service, but my experience with the support is pretty abysmal.  Thankfully it wasn't a big deal and I worked around it.

It was 499 and now it's 299, how is it "around what this system was costing at launch".

You correctly put the word in quotation marks.
You know, he didn't just make money from this, he made a ton of money from it.
He showed investors that there was a lot of demand and "let's raise prices despite the fact that we scaled production." And everyone is "satisfied" [those in business].

After discounting the Starlink Standard Kit by $100, which made it cheaper than the Starlink Mini, SpaceX is now shaving another $200 off the Standard Kit price.
